romanchuck: i subscribed to a site (actually two of them) and found myself being billed for them by google...not sure how they got my bank numbers. then had a nightmare of computrized non-sense to stop the billing....meanwhile actual access to sites was another nightmare of some "security" system that blocked access.
i don't know if this would happen if i subscribed to your newsletter, but i don't want to take the chance. this note is just to let you know i like what i read here, but have been traumatized by what the internet can do to make my life miserable. i understand that other people do not seem to have the problems i have, so it's probably all my fault. nevertheless that is the way it is.
I don’t have a paid newsletter option at Substack (only free), and correspondingly have had no billing issues brought to my attention. I sell books online at major booksellers.
