I was asked some questions about the viability of Canadian provinces issuing their own local currencies — with the idea that it might open fiscal space. The analogy is to the analysis of parallel currencies in eurozone countries. I have not paid much attention to this topic in the context of other countries, but I have reservations on its applicability to the Canadian provinces (and even municipalities).

Thanks. Early in my career, my employer (published financial/economic newsletters) brought in a journalism prof to go through article structuring. This article perhaps had a bit much “foreshadowing,” but the general idea is that an article needs to be structured around the reality that readers skim, so you need to let them know what the main parts are, and they can dig into further details only if they are interested. Definitely not how to write fiction…
